laps to go in the 30-lap Modified feature event at the Fonda side for
position in between Danny Varin and the checkered flag. When the checkered
flag flew it was Varin who scored the victory, not only over those lap cars but
also over defending track champion Stewart Friesen who was closing fast
in the final laps of the event. "I saw
his crew (Friesen's crew) getting a little rowdy so I knew something was up,"
Varin said in victory lane. "It wasn't enough tonight though." Sportsman),
first time winner in the Pro Stock division Dennis Joslin, Rob VanAernam
(Street Stock), Ken Hollenback (4-Cylinder single cam), and Kerrie Hollenback
(4-Cylinder dual cam). The 602 Sportsman feature event was actually won
by Tony Farone who was disqualified in post race tech for not making weight
at the scales handing the win to the second place finisher |
