2011 RULE UPDATES
602 SPORTSMAN

4 CYL's
This is a stock, trophy
class. It will run a 16 lap feature at the end of the racing
events of the day. If there is any difficulty it will be a timed
event at the sole discretion of track officials. Safety is
of the utmost importance.
Rules are as follows:
- Six point cage
- Five point
harness
- Approved
helmet, head sock, racing gloves, neck collar, fire suit
- Stock body for
make and model, trimmed for clearance
- Hood must be
hinged and have hood pins
- Tow hooks both
ends of car
- Stock spring
and struts except right front
- DOT approved
tires, no racing recaps or racing tires
- Stock rims or
wagon style, not 3” past fenders
- One inch lug
nuts
- Stock
appearing engine, no turbo or superchargers
- Cold air
intake is OK, must remain under hood
- Headers

Draw
heats, redraw feature, traditional
bodies, any 13 x 92 modified tire with traditional tread pattern,
traditional bodies.
SPORTSMAN
Open Sportsman- 4/10
Rules
same as 2009. Former budget sportsman with a world products motor
or open motor on pump gas are welcome. We will allow time to burn
off Goodyears or Hoosiers for new comers to join.
602 CRATE LIMITED SPORTSMAN
602
Crate
Limited Sportsman - 7/10
- Harmonic
balancers must be OEM stock that come on a 602 crate
- Only
one (1) 650 cfm Holley carburetor, part#4777 or 80777 or Holley HP
carburetor part#80541-1 will be permitted. Carburetor must
maintain the stock venture and throttle bore dimensions
- Distributor
OEM for a 602 crate and not welded
- Seals
must be OEM crate seal bolts or wire seals from DIRT with paperwork
- Valve
springs must meet stock requirements
- Cam
must be stock 602 lift, duration and centerline
- shocks
must be small steel body shocks only
- weight
limit: 2400# min
- No
tri-y headers, header tubes must not exceed 1 5/8 inch outside diameter
- One
square hole opening maximum 1 1/8 inch thich with gaskets. No
tapering, machining or any other alteration to spacer plate
- All
body and chassis rules are the same as modified division
602 Crate Limited Sportsman - 4/10
Will
have traditional bodies on American Racers, pump gas or VP98, no
try-Y headers, no titanium axles or parts of any kind, single 4-barrel
as specd for crate motors, steel bodied shocks, steel wheel optional,
weight 2450 - 2% (2400). We will allow time to burn
off Goodyears or Hoosiers for new comers.
UMP
UMP DIRT - 4/10
Formerly
IMCA's will run DIRT car rules, DIRT eligible for contingencies and
points with DIRT license.
PRO STOCKS
Pro Stocks-4/10
Will
be eligible for DIRT car contingencies and points. In an effort
to enhance our pro stocks we will be DIRT car eligible for points.
This will give anyone racing at Fonda Speedway DIRT car track
points,
tour points and perhaps a warm reception at Syracuse in the fall.
(There may be critics, but we are trying to strengthen the
class). Pro Stock
cars are basically the same as 2009. weight will be 3100 for open
motors, 2900 for crate motors. No chip for open motors or crates.
If you are going to tour,
you must be on Hoosiers and have a DIRT License. If you are not
part of the DIRT tour, you do
not need a DIRT license. We will allow everyone ample time to
burn off tires including Goodyears at the start of the season. We
are trying to get a
balance by working with everyone in an effort to expand the class and
improve our car count.
